Bias-motivated Incident Reporting

Bias is defined as a personal and often unreasoned judgment for or against one side in a dispute; to influence in a particular, typically unfair direction; prejudice.  A bias incident is conduct, speech, or behavior that is motivated by prejudice, but does not rise to the level of a crime.  However it can be hurtful and it does negatively impact the college campus.

The Bias-motivated Incident Reporting Policy is not designed to take the place of harassment or discrimination, rather the reporting process assists the college in addressing bias-motivated incidents, while advocating a safe and bias-free college environment.
