Action Required Starting January 26.
Know your financial rights and responsibilities.
At Bates Technical College, we want you to feel informed and confident about the costs connected to your enrollment. The Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA) is a short agreement that explains your financial responsibilities related to tuition, fees and payments.
Starting January 26: Students who need to complete the SFRA will see it as a task in ctcLink. If it isn’t completed, it may create a hold that prevents you from registering for classes.
Good news: It only takes a few minutes to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SFRA?
The Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA) is an agreement that explains your financial responsibilities related to tuition, fees and payments while enrolled at Bates Technical College.
Why does Bates Tech require it, and how often do I have to do it?
The SFRA supports transparency and helps ensure students understand expectations related to tuition/fees and payment responsibilities.
The SFRA must be completed once a year (summer through spring), or if changes to the current agreement are mandated.
Where do I find it?
You’ll find it in ctcLink, typically connected to your Tasks and/or Holds area (look for Financial Agreement Hold).
What happens if I don’t complete it?
If you’re required to complete the SFRA and it’s not accepted, it can create a hold that prevents registration.
How long does it take?
Most students can complete it in just a few minutes.
Can I do it on my phone?
Yes! Students can complete the SFRA through the ctcLink HighPoint mobile app.
What if someone else is paying for my tuition (employer, sponsor, etc.)?
Even if a third party is helping pay, students are typically still responsible for their account and ensuring all charges are covered. Please note, if you’re receiving financial aid or other funding, there may be some charges on your account that are not fully covered. For example, your student account might include library book fines, lost equipment, or safety citations. In these cases, you are responsible for those extra charges. Also, if you have a balance on your account because of changes in your funding situation, you will be responsible for that amount.
If you have questions about your specific situation, contact the Cashier’s Office.
