Inclement Weather
Not sure if school is in session because of poor weather? The college will make a decision about changes to on-campus activities, delaying or canceling classes based on weather forecasts, campus conditions and the conditions of the roads around our campuses.
Communication
Once a decision has been made, the college community will be notified as quickly as possible, likely before 5 a.m.
Safety is important during inclement weather conditions. If employees or students determine that it is not safe for them to travel while the college is open, please notify your instructor or supervisor as soon as feasible to make arrangements and/or for proper approvals.
Students and employees may access the most up-to-date weather information on delayed starts, campus closures or early dismissals in the following manners:
- Phone, 253.680.7060
The Weather Information Hotline (253.680.7060) is the first source that is updated any time a closure or delay happens. Whenever possible, the weather hotline is updated by 5:15 a.m. with current information.
- Rave Emergency Alert System, www.getrave.com/login/batestechcollege
Rave Alert is Bates Technical College’s official emergency notification system used to communicate with students and employees during events that affect college operations, including campus emergencies and inclement weather.
