Auto Body Rebuilding and Refinishing

Experienced instructors teach students in classrooms that mirror industry. Students prepare for apprenticeship employment in the auto body rebuilding and refinishing industry.


Automation and Mechatronics

Students learn to install, diagnose, maintain, modify, test, and calibrate electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems used in manufacturing support equipment and production machinery, including industrial robots.


Automotive Technology

In the Automotive Technology program, students prepare for entry-level positions as automotive technicians. Students learn in an active auto service facility that is open to the public and can test for Automotive Service Excellent (ASE) certifications while completing the program.



The Bates barber school offers the most comprehensive, hands-on education in the field. Students prepare to become a licensed barber while learning, working and managing the business end of the college’s on-campus barber shop that serves the public.


Biomedical Service Technician: Clinical Engineering

Students in the biomedical service technician: clinical engineering program learn how to maintain and repair everything from medical imaging equipment wheelchairs, and heart monitors.

Bates Technical College offers Boiler Operator Certification Testing for: Class I Chief Operating Engineer, Class II and III Operating Engineer, Class IV and V Boiler Fireman


Career & Technical Education Teacher Preparation

If you have business and industry experience and want to make the transition to the teaching profession, then consider pursuing a CTE certification at the secondary level, grades 7-12. The Bates CTE Teacher Preparation program is approved by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) for the Plan 2 Business and Industry Route.



Students prepare for apprenticeship employment in the construction industry, filling positions such as carpenter, framer, concrete worker, and interior and exterior finisher.
