Job Summary

Under the direction of the Welding Instructor Supervisor, the work study will assist in maintaining the cleanliness, organization and day to day operations of the Welding Technology Program. 

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and organize the tool room and shop equipment 
  • Assist faculty in processing shop jobs
  • Perform light cleaning duties, as well as assist the supervisor with additional necessary tasks 
  • Assist with building Fantasy Light Display for Metro Parks. 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Statement of Educational Benefits

This position will provide the work study student with insight on how to maintain a high functioning welding shopThe skills acquired will include the ability to troubleshoot and maintain common welding equipment, fabrication skills, and the ability to think critically in a continually evolving industry. 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA  
  • Must have 95% attendance in the program in which the student is enrolled 
    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Prior welding and cutting experience
