Job Summary

Under the direction of the Welding Instructor Supervisor, the work study will assist in maintaining the cleanliness, organization and day to day operations of Welding Technology Program. 

Essential Functions

Maintain and organize the tool room and shop equipment, assist in processing shop jobs, perform light cleaning duties, as well as assist the supervisor with additional necessary tasks.

This position will provide the prospective student with insight on how to maintain a high functioning weld shopThe skills acquired will include the ability to troubleshoot and maintain common welding equipment, fabrication skills and the ability to think critically in a continually evolving industry. 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior welding and cutting experience preferred. 
  • Must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. 
  • Must have 95% attendance in the program in which the student is enrolled. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Follow directions with attention to detail. 
  • Punctual and responsible.   
  • Must wear appropriate attire and personal protective equipment.   
  • Always follow safety protocol.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
