Job Summary

The Office Assistant is a pivotal team member responsible for providing indispensable support to the staff of the Technical High School Department across two campuses. This role involves executing a diverse array of general office tasks to uphold the department’s operational continuity. Exceptional customer service is at the forefront, encompassing proficient handling of incoming and outgoing phone communications, alongside proactive engagement in vital office duties like documentation, scanning, copying, and accurate data entry. 

Essential Functions

This position involves a wide range of general office duties aimed at maintaining the department’s operational flow. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer service through both answering and initiating phone calls, as well as engaging in various essential office tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and proficiently handling data entry. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with organizing and maintaining documents, coordinating appointments and meetings, and any other administrative tasks required by the department. Your presence at both campuses will ensure the smooth functioning of daily operations, greatly contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the office environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or approved equivalency   
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel   
  • Keyboarding skills

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Proficiency in using office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, and fax machines. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks 
  • Professional and courteous demeanor, both in person and over the phone 
  • Customer-focused attitude and excellent customer service skills.
