Job Summary

Assistant will provide basic customer service to patrons and be responsible for basic organization and upkeep of library.  Upon approval, perform basic circulation responsibilities. 

Essential Functions
  • Answer customer’s basic questions 
  • Directing customers to appropriate staff 
  • Guide users to the location of specific library resources  
  • Answer the phone and take messages 
  • Re-shelving materials  
  • Light cleaning and tidying  
  • Monitoring supplies  
  • Check in/out materials  
  • Other duties as assigned 
Statement of Educational Benefits

Assistants will acquire customer service and library operations experience.  Student will be trained in FERPA regulations (privacy), basic technology, Dewey Decimal system, and routing of patrons to appropriate resources and personnel. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or approved equivalency
