This Week on Campus

ASG General Assembly – Wednesday

Please join us for the next ASG General Assembly October 17, from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Downtown Campus Auditorium to review and vote on the proposed ASG constitution and bylaw changes.  Pizza will be available for participants.

Phi Theta Kappa Thursday

PTK meets from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Student Lounge, C 303 Downtown.

Did you know?

Did you know the tutor is available 20 hours each week? Monday-Thursday 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., and Fridays 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in room A 224 of the Downtown Campus. Cadie can assist you with: math, english, human resources, and social studies; even communications and psychology. She also helps with career building and refining resumes and cover letters.

Student Food Pantry

Sack lunches and snacks are available for hungry students. They can be found at the Downtown Campus ASG office in C 301, South Campus ASG/Vet Center B 512, High School Office and Library, and the Advanced Technology Center front desk.

The Deaf World According to Ann Sliver

Join us in the Downtown Auditorium on October 24 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. as we welcome Ann Silver, internationally known deaf artist, to campus! Ann will be presenting on how she fought against discrimination to reclaim identity, language, culture and traditions. She will take you on a visual journey of her provocative Deafcentric art that combines Sociopolitics, Pop Art and Deaf culture. Lunch free with valid Bates student ID. Staff cannot be accommodated at this time.

Did you know?

Did you know the Student Diversity Center is open daily from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.? The center also offers resources like: printing, resource shelf, ASG, fridge, microwave and games. There are also vending machines in the Student Lounge, room C 303, Downtown.

Prayer and Meditation Space

The temporary Prayer, Quite Reflection and Meditation Space is right across the hall from the Student Diversity Center. Room C 302, Downtown.

Cordisco & Saile Leukemia Scholarship – Now

Bucks County personal injury attorney Michael Saile is pleased to present a new scholarship for $1,500. Only applications submitted via the scholarship application form will be considered. Applicants may not submit applications via any other method, including mail or email. Applications submitted in a manner other than via the web form on the main scholarship page will be discarded and will not be considered.

PTK Induction Ceremony

Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony is where we welcome and induct all new members into the Bates chapter of PTK.  It will be held Friday November 2, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Downtown Campus Auditorium. This event will be potluck style. Please bring a dish to share.  Register here.

If you have earned 12 college level credits, with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above, you may be eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society on campus.  Keep your eyes on your email for an invitation!
