Please join Aimee Peyton-Greene, M.A. as she presents on getting your career started. The workshops will be from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with individual help offered until 3:00 p.m.

Frozen Food Pantry – Downtown – Monday – Friday
The Pantry exists to provide free frozen food items for all currently enrolled student at Bates Technical College, to support those experiencing a lack of resources. Interested students can receive items free – Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the ASG Center, room C 301, downtown.
Apply to Walk at Graduation – Thursday
If you are eligible for graduation, you will need to apply to walk in commencement. Follow these steps:
- Complete a Commencement Registration Form
- Turn in your paperwork and pay the registration fee.
- Purchase your cap and gown in the Student Store starting May 2, 2019.
Nourish Mobile Food Bank – Volunteers Needed! – Thursdays
The Nourish Pierce County Mobile Food Bank is now parking at the South Campus, 2201 S. 78th St., in Tacoma on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Students at Bates Technical College and community members can obtain free perishable and non-perishable food items.

ASG and Student Life
ASG General Assembly meeting
The next ASG General Assembly meeting is Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Downtown Auditorium from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. ALL Student Program Delegates are encouraged to attend. Pizza is available for participants.
Food Pantry Donations!
The ASG Center is accepting gallon Ziploc bags and food from students and staff who want to donate. These will be used to provide free lunches to students in need of food and the energy we all know it takes to be active and present in college. Please take your gallon bag donations to the ASG Center, located in room C 301, downtown. Thank you for all your amazing help!

Please join the CarFit event that will be held on May 6, 2019 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event will be hosted at two locations simultaneously (Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community and University of Puget Sound).
It is a FREE event to attend with the intent to teach participants how to make their personal vehicle “fit” them to increase safety and mobility when they are on the road. It is an educational event developed by AAA, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Bates Technical College – Information Technology Specialist – PC Repair Shop
Doesn’t it seem your computer always needs repair at the worst times? Maybe we can help! The PC Repair Shop offers services such as troubleshooting, upgrades, updates, computer component replacement on desktop computers and laptops models. We do not service Apple computers, tablets, or phones. All work is done by current Bates Technical College students and offered to staff and students.
The repair shop charges $25 for troubleshooting and identifying the problems.

Looking For Child Care?
Bates’ Early Learning Center, located at the Downtown Campus, is available to students, staff, and community children. The center serves children ages four weeks through five years old, and offers several program models depending on families’ needs. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. The center follows the college calendar for open days.
Early Head Start is a low-cost program for families that qualify for the DSHS Working Connections Child Care Subsidy. ECEAP is a free preschool program for qualifying children ages 3-5 years. ECEAP has two program models: a six-hour, full-day program from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., or an extended-day program outside those hours.

Erin Hayden, LMHC, is available to meet with students for personal counseling. She can help support you in dealing with things like depression, anxiety, ADHD, and substance abuse. She can also help you learn to cope with academic stress, or with difficult life events like a breakup, illness, or death of a loved one. Educational Advisor – MDC
Allison Paul, Educational Advisor from MDC, is available on campus for students who need help enrolling in school and applying for financial aid. Some of the things she can help with are applying for college, completing the FAFSA, and navigating through student loan default. There is also financial assistance for registration and testing fees available for students who meet income eligibility requirements. If you have earned 12 college level credits, with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above, you may be eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society on campus. Keep your eyes on your email for an invitation!

Scholarships from the Bates Technical College Foundation can provide financial assistance for educational expenses including tuition, exams, books, tools, program supplies and childcare.
