It was a popular drug in the early 1990s, and now, almost 25 years later, it’s use has spiked again.
On this edition of Northwest Now, we take a closer look at Western Washington’s heroin problem. We’ll talk to experts and find out exactly how bad this drug really is and find out more about the negative impact it’s having on our communities.
Plus, we’ll travel to Grays Harbor County, where heroin use has escalated to epidemic rates. “No one is immune to this, said Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott. “I’ve seen people who have had very highly-placed and well-paying jobs become homeless and living on the streets because of their heroin addiction,” said Scott.
Northwest Now is a weekly public affairs program that airs Friday at 7:30 p.m. on KBTC.
