Retirement Plans

Listed below are retirement plans available for eligible employees:

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP), helps our employees and their family members resolve personal or work-related problems. Using your EAP does not cost employees anything. The Washington State EAP is a free, confidential program created to promote the health, safety and well-being of public service employees. To receive assistance, visit the Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) website or call 877-313-4455.

Credit Unions

As a Bates employee, you may join one of two credit unions: Washington School Employees Credit Union and Gesa Credit Union. Both services include payroll direct deposit, automatic bill pay, savings and checking accounts, overdraft protection, personal lines of credit and low interest loans.

Washington Wellness

The goal of Washington Wellness is to make healthy choices easier for state employees and retirees. SmartHealth is a voluntary wellness program that rewards employees and retirees for making time to take simple steps to be your best. Eligible employees and retirees can qualify for a $125 incentive for participating in the wellness program.

Flexible Spending Account

The PEBB Program offers a medical flexible spending account (FSA) program that allows you to set aside money from each paycheck – before taxes – to pay for out-of-pocket health expenses. The FSA is only offered to PEBB benefits-eligible state and higher education employees.
