Posted: March 16, 2021

Are you Bates Technical College student and close to earning your certificate, degree or diploma? Now is the time for you to apply to participate in this year’s hybrid Commencement ceremony.

Here are important dates and reminders:

  1. Apply now to participate in the ceremony. The deadline to have your name included in the Commencement program is May 7. Fill out the brief application as soon as possible.
  2. Order your cap and gown after you have applied for graduation. Online ordering is easy through Herff Jones website. You must order before April 29! More information is on the Commencement webpage.
  3. Mark your calendar. This year, the Commencement celebration will be hybrid on June 7, which means it will be a mix of recorded Commencement speeches and a drive-through celebration at South Campus (2201 S 78th Street, Tacoma).
  4. Keep an eye out for the map and a notification for what timeslot you’ll have to drive through the procession. The drive through will be held on June 7 beginning at 6 p.m.
  5. You’re encouraged to safely decorate your vehicle, adhering to  the student code of conduct, as you make your way through the drive through event at South Campus. You’ll have an opportunity to park, get out of your car and snap a pic, courtesy of GradImages
  6. Don’t forget that to actually receive your diploma, you need to complete the Credential Application and email it to registration@batestech.edu.
