Friday's Northwest Now covers a variety of topics, from food banks to ballet

Posted: July 21, 2016

In this edition of Northwest Now, we’re getting out of the studio and out into the field to take a closer look at the issues that affect all of us here in Western Washington.

Up first – we’ll travel to Thurston County to see the effort a local food bank is making to help those in need. We’ll also get in-step with some of the new trends in how food banks are run.

In health: Did you know Washington State is one of the leaders when it comes to recreational accidents? Put your helmet on for that one.

Then, we turn to the arts and join the Tacoma City Ballet for rehearsals as they prepare for their annual production of The Nutcracker.

And Bates Technical College makes a major new investment in the Hilltop community – we’ll take you inside.

The Emmy and Telly Award-winning public affairs series Northwest Now airs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on KBTC Public Television, a service of Bates Technical College.
