Earth Day co-founder, Bullitt Center, the focus of Northwest Now
Posted: April 17, 2015
Forty-five years ago this week, America celebrated the first ever Earth Day. On Friday’s edition of Northwest Now, we’ll take a closer look at Earth Day and its co-founder, Denis Hayes, CEO of the Bullitt Foundation.
“It was astonishing, we had hoped to be on the same sort of league as some of the antiwar protests had been, but in fact, it just mushroomed beyond,” Hayes told Northwest Now host Tom Layson.
“It was by far the largest planned demonstration in American history–more than 20 million people participated.” Viewers will also look inside Seattle’s Bullitt Center, a structure considered to be the world’s greenest commercial building.
