Bates Technical College welcomes new dean of instruction

TACOMA, Wash. – Bates Technical College President Dr. Ron Langrell recently announced the appointment of Josh Clearman as campus dean of the Advanced Technology Center at Central/Mohler Campus, effective Monday, June 6.
A Tacoma resident, Clearman’s most recent post was dean of trades and technology at Green River College, where he led workforce development, supervised and provided leadership to 65 employees for two academic divisions and two programs. He brings more than 12 years of program building, business development, outreach, advocacy and experience to the college.
“I look forward to Mr. Clearman joining the Bates family,” said the college’s Executive Vice President Al Griswold. “Mr. Clearman’s background in technology and science will contribute greatly towards enhancing the college’s position in the field of science, technology, engineering and math,” he said.
Clearman holds a Master of Natural Science from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Science from Washington State University, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program, with a focus in strategy and project management, at University of Washington Tacoma, which he expects to complete in 2018.
